He has been providing service to the Centre of Digestive Diseases since 1998 and has performed more than 50,000 sedations for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
He has an interest in the development of oxygenation devices used in sedation and has also been involved in the development of a novel capsule bowel preparation. The latter product has been licensed to Salix Pharmaceutical (USA) in 2014.
He completed his PhD in 2013 entitled “Improving safety in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.”
He has been actively involved in other research and development of various trial conducted through the Centre for Digestive Diseases.
He has been involved in the teaching of nursing and medical staff. He holds the position of Senior Clinical Lecturer at Sydney University in association with his RPA appointment. He regularly addresses the GP nights conducted by the Centre and has poster presentations at Australian Gastro Week and Digestive Diseases Week.
The Centre for Digestive Diseases provides infusions of biologics and iron. He is responsible for this therapeutics.
Being a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners he is able to provide the assessment of suitable patients especially the aged who requires a preoperative assessment with regards to undertaking a bowel preparation.
He has been active participant and presenter at medical conferences in Australian and internationally.
