IVERMECTIN:

In response to growing public demand for Ivermectin to treat and prevent COVID-19, the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) issued a Media Release entitled ‘New restrictions on prescribing ivermectin for COVID-19’ published on the 10th September.  The full statement is available at https://www.tga.gov.au/media-release/new-restrictions-prescribing-ivermectin-covid-19.

Whilst certain specialists still have heavily restricted permission to prescribe ivermectin for other unapproved indications, the Centre for Digestive Diseases is a private Day-Stay Hospital, set up for meeting the care needs of patients with gastroenterological conditions.  As such, the gastroenterologists at the Centre for Digestive Diseases do not specialise in the treatment of COVID-19 and will not accept referrals for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 or prescribe ivermectin for the indication of COVID-19.
